Local Theater: ‘Annie’ and ‘Odd Couple’
Oscar and Felix: two names that will forever bring to mind The Odd Couple.  Now you can see Jeff Johnson and KHTS’ own Jason Endicott starring in The Odd Couple at Canyon Theatre Guild.   The play opens Saturday and runs through August 28.  You still have time to catch one of Broadway’s most popular and uplifting musicals, ‘Annie,’ at the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre on stage at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.  For a special ticket offer for ‘Annie’ click here.

SCV Outdoor Report: Grubs, Galls and Goldenrod

The other day, my Dad and I were exploring Frog Alley, part of the Vernon Wildlife Area in southeastern Wisconsin.  We spotted some Canada Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), one of the most common of the 24 different species of Goldenrod in Wisconsin.

USL W-League Women's Soccer Championship Weekend Begins Tonight

khts_sportsThe start of a championship weekend begins today in the United Soccer League W-League. The semifinals of the W-League playoffs bring a doubeheader of games to Canyon High School.

The Atlanta Silverbacks, the champions of the Eastern Conference of the W-League, plays the Buffalo Flash, winners of the Central Conference, in the first semifinal at 5 p.m.

The Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues earned at an automatic berth in the semifinals by posting the best record in the W-League. They finished with an 11-1-0 record. The Quickstrike Lady Blues will play the Vancouver Whitecaps, the Western Conference champions, in the second semifinal game.

Sanitation Board Holds Off On Controversial Rate Increase

7_27_TeaParty_WD__0085On Tuesday night, the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District Board concluded their public hearing on the wastewater rate increase by holding off on the vote until spring.

Power Outage In Canyon Country

At 10:02 this morning, an underground cable failed in Canyon Country affecting 1640 customers.  Power was quickly restored. Southern California Edison reports that the Mitchell Eagles After School Club is the only building currently without power.
